Timeless lines in a shifting play of forms
Multi-family residence | Living area: 312 m² | Rooms: 5.5 rooms | Construction: solid (massive) construction
The interior design concept of this residence is based on the dynamic interplay between modernity and classicism. The starting point was the architectural intention to merge classical elements with a contemporary formal language, resulting in a coherent and well-balanced overall composition.
Accents in warm light
Within the interior, this concept is carried through consistently. Golden accents—expressed in fittings, door handles, and carefully selected luminaires—run as a unifying design element throughout the house, lending the spaces an elegant and warm atmosphere.
The depth of materiality
The material palette is defined by a deliberate contrast between natural character and modern precision. A herringbone parquet floor in smoked oak forms the foundation of the spatial design, lending the interiors depth, warmth, and a timeless elegance. This classic laying pattern reinterprets traditional craftsmanship, creating a calm, high-quality base that unifies all areas.
Contrast in balance
The central living and dining area is defined by the natural stone Calacatta Viola Marble. With its distinctive veining, it introduces a refined accent and forms the visual focal point of the space. As a calm counterbalance, the kitchen is deliberately kept restrained. Appliances by V-ZUG are precisely arranged and appear as elegant black glass surfaces, seamlessly integrating into the overall composition.
A place of retreat
The master bathroom is conceived as a place of retreat, defined by a calm yet expressive atmosphere. Large-format ceramic surfaces with a stone-like appearance emphasize the natural character of the space. The ceramic basin with its vanity unit is intentionally designed to appear light, creating a sense of balanced harmony. The freestanding bathtub is centrally positioned within the open, high, and light-filled room, becoming a quiet focal point for relaxation.
The line of classicism
A defining design element is the finely crafted cornices and skirting profiles. They reference classical architectural motifs, reinterpreted through a restrained color palette in a contemporary manner. On the upper floor, this theme is deliberately accentuated: along the corridor, the cornice detailing is highlighted through a distinct color contrast and intentionally staged as a key design feature.
Light as a form of staging
The lighting concept subtly completes the interior design. Fixtures by Flos and Occhio introduce targeted accents, highlight materials and architectural details, and create an atmospheric lighting environment that enhances the spatial experience.
Timeless in balance
The result is an interior architecture that captures the tension between classical elegance and contemporary clarity, translating it into a timeless and harmonious overall composition.
