Multi-generational home EMRA: Living in Dialogue with Space and Nature
With EMRA, a residential building is created that unites architecture, nature, and everyday living into a harmonious whole.
Openness that fosters connection
The name is inspired by the English word Emerald and reflects the vibrant green façade design as well as values such as calm, stability, and renewal. The clear cubic architectural form gives the building a quiet presence, while the vertically structured façade changes its appearance depending on light and season, adding a special architectural depth to the house.
At the heart of the project are carefully planned floor plans and strong community qualities. EMRA includes thoughtfully designed 3.5-room apartments and 5.5-room apartments, accommodating different living situations while following a unified architectural concept. Generous living, dining, and kitchen areas open toward the landscape through floor-to-ceiling glazing, creating bright open living spaces with strong visual connections to the surroundings.
A space for interaction and everyday living
A distinctive feature is the community space on the ground floor, conceived as a connecting element for the residents. This open and flexible space offers room for encounters, exchange, and shared activities.
The space opens toward a shared garden available to all residents. Large glazed surfaces create seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing light, greenery, and the changing seasons to become part of everyday life. In this way, a vibrant neighborhood emerges with a high quality of stay and a strong connection to nature.
