LO PAN

LO PAN: Feng Shui and modern architecture merge

The LO PAN (Chinese compass) project is a symbiosis of feng shui and modern architecture. This can be seen in the urban setting, the organisation across the storeys and in the connections between the rooms.

The residential building with granny flat blends harmoniously into the neighbourhood on the south-west facing slope with a distant view. This resulted in an elevated ground floor facing the street and garage.

The precisely positioned entrance serves as a portal and enables the optimal absorption of the energy flow, the so-called Qi. The ground floor also serves as a sleeping level and provides access to the garden level via a terrace. In addition to the wellness/fitness area and the granny flat with a multifunctional additional room, the garden level with its large covered seating area offers a water feature in the garden, which symbolises the flow of life.

The terrace on the attic floor allows you to enjoy the outdoor space with a view of the lake. Plantings behind the playful picket railing keep the energy on the floor. The living floor was designed as an open space, whereby the taiji (the centre/the focus of the floor plan) has also been decidedly left open on this floor.

Deliberately placed curves lend the architecture a soft, harmonious but also dynamic dress and give the project its specific expression.
